Hi.. any suggestions on where i could get D300 for a good price?
(to those who owns one, any recommended place?)

I heard its production might come to an end soon... I should better hurry and get it, i was planning to get it on december christmas though (might be cheaper i guess)

Let me know if you guys have inputs..

the pricewise its almost the same, just dont get conned by certain shops....

probably more freebies during the festive season or some IT fair ... (Freebies would be good for you if your starting out with no tripod or anything ...)

yup. i have been using d70 for a few years. recently,somehow, i find it quite laggy with the focusing. sometimes it takes a while before it respond.

i once asked for the price at a store in meridien orchard about a month ago, $1800. im not sure if its right, he might have mistaken and gave me the price of d200 instead..not sure haha. or maybe it isn't including gst and stuff.

when will there be another IT fair? but wouldnt the price be around 2500++. the freebies such as tripod or bag not really important, just a cf card will do actually.

so i actually plan to go to stores where they might sell slightly lower. I heard funan John 3:16 is good..but i've never buy anything from there before.

since u got all the basic stuff, you dont really need to wait for the IT fair.(I think end of nov there will be one SITEX)

Get the D300 if you need you, and not want it. Photographers should buy equipment to solve their problems =X

Btw, havn;t heard of any nikon semi pros coming out soon ... Where did u take ur source of d300 discontinuing x)

I think the D70 is a very good camera. But if you are upgrading to d300 the price should be around 2.1k up.

haha.. ppl have money maaaa! not like youuu... jumping around dxx models. lmao.

anyways. well its good that you are going to upgrade to the d300. usually what i do is i would buy a good cam and keep it for a loooooooong time. d300 is a pretty decent cam. not to mention the price too.

anyways, im not sure about this but, once the newer model comes out or smth, as in you catch the 1st model before nikon shops have it on display, you should go buy it... from a trustworthy shop that is. usually thats when the price is usually the lowest.

hmm... if imma going out any of this day to anywhere that sells a cam, i see if i can look out for good prices.

John 3:16 is a nice place.. i got my things from there as well... frenly and top service.. haha .. IMHO .. nv get things from IT Fairs .. IT fairs sells camera at the RRP so it would be pretty expensive, unless u need the freebies they toss in ... It will pretty much cheaper to get your camera from shops like John 3:16 .. Cathay Photos ..... and likes ...

yeah i still like my D70..nice cam. I plan for the D300 to be kept for a long time. and that is the max for me already, as in i dont think i'll be getting FX cams..so d700 and d3 is out of target. Skill wise...im still an amateur. that's why not going to full-frame (lens factor).

 my d70 getting old and i think the cf card compartment is sometimes faulty. smtimes cant detect my cf. dunno if it is cam or card problem.

at first i was comparing with d90.. but decided on d300. i dun need the video feature and also d300 has better body material. and d300 is one level above it..might as well i go up lol.

regarding the end of production issue..i just read in a forum someone mentioned it. it is not a reliable source. so yea it might be wrong.

so it shouldnt matter if i plan to wait till christmas period..? i hope to get it around $2000

Sitex only good for computers... IMHO. haha. But the freebies they give out are usually good...

thanks for the advices... i think i'll go to funan one of these days and check out the prices. just hoping to get the body and a CF card. My 1GB wont be enough for a 12mp cam haha.
