I believe what farhan meant by soft is that the object of interest is not sharp enough .. The focus is slightly off imo ... very slight though...

For resized images like these, it's pretty evident there is no good focus, esp on #2, #3, and #5. Not as slight as what Navonod mentioned IMO.

Yeah... i know... some of them out of focus, cos I used automatic focus then sometimes it just focused at the wrong place. More difficult when my object dowan to cooperate.

try to use selective focus, then lock the focus, then you recompose

take note of the light source direction to prevent dark face. btw, the kid is very cute =)
