JOINING US IS A BREEZE!

Hi,

Encountered many members or potential members having problems trying to join our club. Thus, deciding to post this for the benefit of those who needs help.

It pretty simple to join us.

Criterias:
1. Current Student in Singapore Polytechnic
2. An active alumni member from SPP club

As long as you fulfil either criterias, the next question is:

How to join the club?

Send an email to me, Poo Siang, indicating your interest to join us.
The Email should have:

1. Your real name
2. Your Admin Number
3. Your contact number (preferably mobile)
4. Your contact email (please provide one that you check regular as this is where we send invitations to our events)

Things you can do after sending your email:
1.Register an account in the forum, or if you already have, browse around the forums
2. Visit our clubroom above Food Court 5 (Not open during Weekends, Public Holidays and School Holidays unless stated)
3. Join our workshops and events as we send you emails and also post them on this forum.

We are a fun lot to hang out with. I swear. We really are.

Here are some hearsays about joining this club. Please take note they are NOT true.

Hearsay 1: You need to own a Digital SLR to be a part of us.
Clarifications: We are a photography club, not a DSLR club. So even if you own a digital compact camera. Do not hesitate to join us as long as you are into photography or you would like to start with us.

Heresay 2: If you join us, you have to get a DSLR
Clarifications: Pretty much like the first hearsay, we look at photography, not equipments. There are wonders you can perform even with the simplest digital compact camera.
However, quite a handful of us talk about DSLRs as we like members to understand more about the advance phototaking equipments which allows the user more control of the camera.

Besides, most of our student members started off with a digital camera to understand the basic photography terms.

Heresay 3: SPP only has Canon users, so if I get a non-Canon brand I will be outcasted/ If I get a camera, I must get canon.
Clarifications: It is pretty true in a sense, quite a number of student members own Canon DSLRs, there are also some who use other brands like Nikon, Konica Minolta, Olumpus, Sony, etc etc. The list could go forever.

We'll teach you the basics and when you feel you like to dwell into DSLR, our members are more than happy to share their opinions with you on the different brands and the cameras. With these opinions, it can better facilitate your decision in buying your first DSLR.
