for the first one, all the yellow rectangles make it look so cheapo...

was wondering, the 2nd one is nicer but the background seems to be a bit messy, what do you think if the background a bit more lighter/transparent?

2nd one is definitely better!

Because the 1st one, would not be so effective because:

 The color tones do not complement each other
 The background and font colors both are bright
 & The words quite crammed... readers actually dont bother reading
 everything.. they quite lazy, therefore we must simplify & summarise what they
 want to see.. 

 2nd Picture VERY NICE actually!

I agree with John. To capture attention effectively, the background should be slightly-faded. So the picture's and design stands out.. hehe. But Simon, if cannot, like u said.. bo bian lah..

Serious note, If you got time and think it's worth the time.

Among the five of us, I think only wang jun and blondi needs to adjust lighter or transparency, coz they wear dark clothes; then zul and me need darker or else people cannot see the passport mosiac. the 4th guy is transparent to the right degree haha.
